It seems like church these days gets a lot of criticism. But we have some very cool churches in our area. On July 3rd, Church at the Springs hosted a “Freedomfest.” So after burgers and corn-on-the-cob at our house with family, we took the kids over to check it out. The church is basically located in a big field, and they’d filled the area with water slides, bounce houses, games, and food vendors.
It was over 90 degrees, but Sky and Micah were oblivious. All they cared about were those bounce houses, and oh my goodness, did they ever enjoy themselves. They bounced themselves into hot, sweaty messes and still they didn’t want to leave. And it was all free! We’d leave one bounce house and climb into the next, all without buying any tickets or even standing too long in line. It was the perfect Fourth of July event for a one-year-old and a two-year-old. And all the fun happened at a church. I think God likes it when people from all over town head to His house for a good time. I hope Church at the Springs does another “Freedomfest” next year. Maybe when our kids are another year older we’ll even last until the fireworks at 9pm.
Happy 4th of July!!
Thanks Malin! To you too! You’re part-American, right?
Haha Linnea! I’m 100% SWEDISH but half my heart belongs to the US anyway… (Your part Swedish)
I LOVE the pix! Darling! Happy, happy times…
Mom, I wish you could have seen her catapulting off the top of that slide! Ad and I laughed so hard…
We were there too! It was a really great event and I pray many are brought to Jesus through it.
I wondered if you guys were there! I was looking for you, but I should have texted since there were a billion people there.
